WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

We are a small group of volunteers based in east Dorset, who are able to provide a rescue service for the public when they find bats in trouble within this region of the county.

We receive no official funding and rely totally on public donations for veterinary costs; transport; live food for the bats; housing; heat mats; incubators; large flights etc. during these difficult times.

When bats come in to us their injuries are assessed and appropriate treatment given. Once on the way to recovery we are able to use our outdoor flights to ensure that they are fit and flying strongly enough to be released back into the wild. This process can take many weeks and man hours to complete. We then return them to their local colony and areas of feeding.

We are extremely grateful to our local specialist vet team who offer advice, care plans and treatment for the survival and recovery of our most injured bats.
